MEET ANN
Hi, my name is Ann Mathon. I am a Psychologist and Life Coach, and specialise in anxiety, but have also worked a lot with depression, loss and grief and various crises.
If you feel overly stressed or a bit stuck in your current life situation and would like towards changing that, I may be able to help. Oftentimes I find that my clients just have had too many things happen at once, and then have found it difficult to find their way back to their normal selves, or that they keep repeating the same patterns over and over again even though they know exactly what they should be doing instead.
It happens to all of us, and sometimes talking to a professional can help.
How do the treatments work?
Psychotherapy and counselling aim to help people regulate their emotional states and feel more in control of their reactions and actions. The way this happens, is through using tried and tested techniques for calming down the nervous system, providing information about how various states emerge and how to handle them once they are in full swing.
They also aim to help you get to know yourself better, in order to help you get a clearer idea about underlying issues and well established patterns so that you can make more conscious choices about how to handle things. Like updating your software, so to speak.
Life Coaching is more future oriented and involves specific goals you would like to reach, and can help with clarifying your path forward and how to overcome obstacles that life, or we ourselves, put in our way. Few of us realise our full potentials, and we often know that we could achieve a lot more if we got our habits and thinking straight.
When working I use elements of both where needed to give as comprehensive a treatment as possible.
